Interview with Anna Nilsson

Meet Anna Nilsson: The Woman Behind Hird Consulting – A Passion for People, Entrepreneurship, and… Cashmere

Anna Nilsson is one of those women who doesn't just talk about creating something new – she actually does it. As the founder of Hird Consulting, a recruitment and advisory firm helping start-ups and scale-ups find the right talent, Anna has made a significant mark on an industry often driven by fast decisions and competition.

So what inspired her to take the step and launch her own company? The answer lies in a deep passion for people and business:

"I always knew I wanted to build something of my own. I'm driven by creating, and Hird Consulting became the perfect match – there was demand, and I could combine my love for people and business."

Human connection and a passion for leadership

For Anna, it’s not just about matching CVs to job descriptions. She’s passionate about human connection and about creating the right fit between people and organizations.
"Being a leader is such a fulfilling role – you get to motivate others and help them find where they truly belong. That’s what drives me every day," she explains.

Work and life: When passion takes center stage

Entrepreneurship plays a major role in Anna’s life. In fact, she admits it can be hard to draw a clear line between work and personal time.
"I was on my own with Hird Consulting for over three years without taking a real vacation. Of course, it has an impact – but when you love what you do, it’s also a conscious choice."

To find balance in a busy schedule, Anna starts her day early – a true morning person – with a walk with her dog just before 7 AM. Breakfast is usually oatmeal or a bun with cheese. And the coffee?
"Always an Americano," she says with a smile.

On national TV: A learning experience

Many might recognize Anna from the TV show “Cheferne – Jagten på talentet” (The Bosses – The hunt for talent). She describes the experience as both nerve-wracking and fun.
"I’d never done tv before, but it was valuable to apply my expertise in such a different setting."

To aspiring female entrepreneurs: Just go for it!

Anna has a clear message for other women thinking about starting their own business:
"You have to dare to take the first step and not be discouraged. In a male-dominated industry like mine, I haven’t had many role models – but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. Reach out across industries, join female community events, ask for help – and don’t be afraid to connect with people."

Staying motivated – and a love for cashmere

So how does she stay motivated when things get tough? For Anna, it’s all about looking ahead and finding solutions.
"This is a passion project. Even when it’s hard, I just want to figure out how to improve and make things better. Exercise helps too – it keeps my energy up."

And on those hectic mornings when nothing in the wardrobe feels right?
"I wear cashmere – it feels good, looks good, and gives me a little boost," she reveals. Cashmere is one of the small luxuries she allows herself in the midst of a busy life.

Her current favorite? A standout piece from the upcoming Autumn Collection “City Chic.”
